This is my first time dealing with virus protection issues. I have a feeling it wont be my last. My situation is this I was on the internet one day and I got an error message saying that my computer has been contracted a virus called the blackworm virus. I was immediately prompted to download and purchase a Winfix Pro 2006 program that would assist me in removing the virus. Mind you, I already have the Norton Anti-virus so at this point I am pist cause the norton was saying that all system were "ok". At some point last week my computer became so slow and slugesh that I wasnt able to use any function on the computer. I have tried to download many different types of virus definitions, live updates, full system scans, many reboots, enable\disable system restore, yada yada, yada. At this point strangley enough my system is running normal, but I still get that error message about the Beagle or Black worm virus; I keep losing my quick launches in my toolbar.

One more thing........ I am connected to verizon DSL service at this point, should I disconnect?

Also can you recommend other programs that will enhance my Norton virus currently installed on my system.

Okay thats it..

Hi,

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
* Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
* Click the Scan for Vundo button.
* Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
* You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
* Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
* When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
* Turn your computer back on.

Then go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs

Remove anyting that has to do with.

WinFixer

or

NewDotNet

I want to make sure that I one of the moderaters of the forum confirms this onfo before I use this application to solve my problem. I appreciate your prompt reply and would like to believe your a knowledge help person, but I cant be sure. Thanks again.

Yea I can confirm it. That's the correct fix above for your current Vundo infection, along with other problems.

Tayspern's been in this business for a LONG time :D

Thanks.

Lol, thanks for vouching for me :). And good to see around again, you were MIA for a while.

Dont forget to delete this folder as well

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Win Fixer 2006

Other than that, the fix looks fine.
