For and : Avast flagging Win32:Lineage-197 plus a generic Win32:Trojan‑gen while other scanners show nothing is a common pattern. “Trojan‑gen” is often a generic/generic‑heuristic label used when a scanner sees trojan‑like behavior but not a named family, and the same real sample can be named differently by different engines. Microsoft and other vendors have historically classified “Lineage” variants as password‑stealing/keylogger‑type threats. (community.avast.com)

Immediate, practical steps (do these in order):

  • Disconnect the PC from the network.
  • Back up personal documents to external media (do not copy executables).
  • Update all antivirus/anti‑malware definitions. Run a full/boot‑time scan with your AV, then run a second‑opinion Threat/Full scan with Malwarebytes. After that run Microsoft’s safety/removal tools (MSRT or Microsoft Safety Scanner). If a tool prompts for quarantine or removal, accept it and reboot. (malwarebytes.com)

If detections persist or the scanner can’t remove items: run an offline rescue scan (Windows Defender Offline or a reputable rescue ISO), and use Microsoft Sysinternals Autoruns (and Process Explorer) to identify and disable unknown autostart entries before rebooting. Submit suspicious files or hashes to a multi‑engine scanner (VirusTotal) to confirm whether detections are corroborated. Be cautious deleting signed or system files—disable entries first, then remove only when multiple sources confirm maliciousness. (docs.microsoft.com)

If after those steps the machine still shows infections, consider a clean reinstall or professional removal — and change all important passwords from a known‑clean device and enable 2‑factor authentication. If you want, post the specific quarantined filenames or the simplified HJT summary (not the full log) and someone experienced can point to the exact autostart items to disable. (malwarebytes.com)

I have the same problem...same trojan and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. Can someone help?
