Hi

My homepage is locked and I don't know how to access it. I've tried other spyware services but I still can't access "news.bbc.co.uk/sports". I used hijackthis and scanned my PC and got this:

Also when I try accessing my usual homepage/any BBC site it takes me to porn search engines. It seems to be going to them via jupk.com but then if I ban it, it still takes me to them by another site. Don't know if that helps at all but just thought I'd add it.

Oh, and I forgot too that when I use google and click on a link, I'm taken to "btcar.com" and not the link. To get to the link I often have to copy and paste the URL.

Ok, sorry but I didn't read the thread containing instructions on how to post and everything. I just read it and followed the instructions and my problem is solved! I can access my homepage again! But the btcar.com still keeps bothering me so here's a new HijackThis scan done properly this time:

First, use protection (firewall and anti-virus).

You have 2 suspects there:

"O8 - Extra context menu item: Ebates - file://C:\Program Files\Ebates__MoeMoney__Maker\ebmmt\ebmmC5.htm"

and

"O9 - Extra button: Ebates - {F2B441CC-E026-47fb-BDC3-A07750FA3D2C} - file://C:\Program Files\Ebates__MoeMoney__Maker\ebmmt\ebmmC5.htm (HKCU)"

You can check them in your hijackthis and click on "fix checked", or you can try to uninstall it.
Some adware programs and search engine hijackers have the uninstall key in the "Add/remove programs". Some can be removed as objects in Internet explorer settings (Internet options/Temporary Internet Files "Settings" button/"View Objects" button/right-click on suspect object/Remove).

Ok, thanks Chaky! I missed those before.

But I still run into btcar.com sometimes when I use a search engine.
