First may I say what a friendly helpful site although I still find all these threads and posts confusing as although I have used a computer for some years I am only just getting to grip with forums and online communities. :o
I have submitted a problem I have and cannot find where I put it so am totally  Looking around the site I see that some good people do put things in the correct places so I hope I am not doing to much of a cardinal sin by placing my problem here, as I have trying to work on a solution by reading the forums for the past three days.
If I tell everyone exactly what I've been doing maybe it will help.
I found I could not get onto MSM and Ebay SSL. I could bring up the home pages (still can) but when I try to access my account the page cannot be displayed notice comes up.
I went to Tools - Internet Option - Cleared out cookies history and deleted files.
Still could not get on.
I telephoned my service provider (Blueyonder Telewest) who more or less went through the same thing and the only option they give me was to phone a premium rate number at £1 a minute. I would have actually phoned this number but cannot do so from my phone line as premium rates are blocked. (All these television competition lines have a lot to answer for :!:
I then followed all the threads I could find on your site down loading hijack this which came up with the following report.
Obviously I understand every bit of it (not) but I know there are some cleaver peeps on here that do :)
I then downloaded ewido anti spyware and it found quite a lot of nasties but now tells me the problems are fixed (still can't get onto Ebay though).
I then downloaded Firefox to see if that would work but i get the following response Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at en-gb.start.mozilla.com. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
So again no luck
I have phone my ISP again and have been told the best thing would be to reformat my pc (really helpful  )
The other stupid thing I did do was to download IE 7 beta (I thought it might just help) and then I couldn't connect with the internet at all so it wasn't a good idea and more time was spent trying to get IE 6 back (Not recommended  )
I now am at my wits end and my brain really hurts ;) Can anyone please help and have the eternal gratitude of myself, my children and my childrens children ( )
p.s On the plus side at least I have saved money not buying on Ebay as I've now missed auction
Hiya, I am friendly :) Most of us scousers are
I can get onto Ebay home page but when I try and log in thats when I get this page cannot be dsplayed. The same goes for MSM and all the other secure sites I normally go on even the likes of my Photos Albums which are stored online
I'm still looking for a solution so any ideas would help.
By the way, have you installed any programs or downloaded any files recently that may have initiated the change? Think back to the last time you were able to sign in to secure sites and consider any changes you may have made or programs you may have installed that would be contributing to the problem.
