Skinny... although I'm trying to put on some more weight... I've gained 13 pounds in 2 years, yay! Currently I am 5'7" 130 lbs.
I know a lot of people that have LAN parties, but they're not particular geeky... they just like to play video games. :)
I'm wishing for Guitar Hero for the Wii!

Welcome to Daniweb, Dennis! :)
Just wanted to know what was on everyone's Christmas list... :)

The piano. :) Just because I play it.
I have some catching up to do. ;)
>Yes? Don't you? Some people do not have the money to give... but that doesn't mean they should not receive anything.
They always receive less.
I agree with that, just because the majority of our society would "give less." But to me, they should receive more. This Christmas, I am giving $100 worth of presents to a girl that goes to my school who is very unfortunate and will probably receive nothing this year. And to me, it is still not enough, but $100 is all I can do.
I agree with sturm on this one. Just because they "should" get things regardless does not mean that they do. While in an Ideal world this would happen. In the Real world this does not happen.
I know, and it saddens me.

>Exactly. Giving, Sturm.
Do you give presents to people who don't return the favor?
Yes? Don't you? Some people do not have the money to give... but that doesn't mean they should not receive anything.
>I just tend to think of it as giving like Christ would give.
By buying low quality crap from Wal-Mart which tacitly supports American materialism and consumerism? Sure sounds like "Christ" to me. Holidays are just excuses for corporations to sell you crap.
Now when did I ever mention Walmart in my comment?
I believe, Sturm, that she was putting the focus on the giving...that is, as opposed to the 'GIMME! GIMME!' mentality that some people seem to have about the season. THAT, I would say, is what really supports 'American materialism'.
Exactly. Giving, Sturm.
Even with all of that, turkey still tastes like wet cardboard with salt and seasoning on it! Give me a nice grilled steak anytime.
I'm not really a red meat kind of person... I'd rather have turkey or chicken... (that would probably explain why my iron count is low).
Look at the title, you are supposed to react/think about the commercialized part of the holidays. Give your wooden nickels worth of outcry about the demeaning of the holy man's birthday.
I just tend to think of it as giving like Christ would give.
Everything tastes bland to me, without salt and seasoning.
Awww, why does everyone here hate Christmas? :(
The > means not better than you, but larger than you. Maybe she is a real fat and jolly chick!
Greater, not larger. Lol... I'm far from being fat... 5'7" weighing 125 lbs. Although I really should be obese by the way I eat, I just have a fast metabolism.
Christina>you - your name implies christina is better than you? is that what you mean?
Yes and no. I really couldn't think of a username. And you have it wrong.... it's Christina is greater than you. ;)

Lol.. that's definitely not me.
Wow... this thread is still going strong? Cool.
Is anyone else standing up for God, as I did?
edit] didn't mean to post. Sorry.
>Medical professionals are pretty darn honest in my opinion.
for the most part. in my opinion, doctors in the united states don't really do much work. Compared to other countries, doctors here a lot more assistants and nurses that do most of the work. Just like dentists, they don't do anything, they just look at your mouth and say "you need braces", or "you need fillings done" then their medical assistant does most of the work.
But i don't know, that's just my opinion.
I agree, that seems to be very true in a lot of cases (except for surgery).
Medical professionals are pretty darn honest in my opinion.
Water.
The taste of two hydrogen atoms mingling with an oxygen atom is unbeatable.
Haha... chemistry is awesome.

My American Government book says that anarchy and oligarchy both are forms of dictatorship.
It's good. I'm loving it.
You can call it that if you wish---my main point was to emphasize that elected representatives are in essence, dictators of a sort..
Dictators? No way.
-- whats-his-name from Cuba is a prime example.
Fidel Castro, I believe.
No more controller talk; how bout them graphics
The graphics are a lot better IMO.
Duki had to buy a 360 lol... just so he could play halo.
All games are overhyped on release...
Not as much as Halo.
I think we will eventually find a cure for AIDS. Especially since the disease is fairly "young."
I like the new design... the screen is much larger and 65% brighter. Plus, it plays videos.

You keep throwing "best" and "most efficient" around interchangeably, but they are not the same at all. Your question asked about efficiency.
I understand what the words "best" and "efficient" mean, I was just giving my opinion.
What is Civics class?
Civics is all about the American Government.
Your questions seem like a homework assignment. For that I would refer you to Wikipedia, generally.
If you care to be digging deeper, present a more focused question.
You are very close, it wasn't a homework assignment, but the question was asked by my teacher in my Civics class... she asked what we thought about it and then she told us what she thought. She said that democracy isn't the best form of government, but it is better than most. And some said that dictatorships were more efficient. I tended to agree that democracy was the best form, with a federal government. Like Lincoln said in the Gettysburg Address: "government of the people, by the people, and for the people."
So most say that dictatorship is more efficient than democracy...
Yeah... but which one do you think is better, democracy or dictatorship?
