Yes..it tends to happen quite often and interestingly..at times, a part of the page comes up..and the other half says that "Internet Page cannot be displayed"...usually closing & re-opening IE fixes that.

Could you please be more detailed and tell what the requirements of the program are?

As you travel to various states/countries...you'll find many people have different ways of disiplining their kids...some however, have gone overboard to the point of abuse. So do you think that it's wrong to spank kids and how far should the law of the land go in determining how much is too much??? Ought to be an interesting discussion!

Maybe we ought to change the topic of this thread...i know i played a part in the alteration of the original discussion...but it has turned out to be quite interesting!...It's pretty much the repuation that the USA has..for example...and NO disresect to anyone from there....but let us say I had a PhD from a poor, worn torn african nation..and lets say you have the same degree/experience/qualification from the USA..which sounds more appealing? ...

Then why do tons of international students pay an assload just to come to college in America? Our colleges and universities are obviously some of the best in the world.

As for high school, perhaps some schools are terrible, but there are plenty of great schools too.

Good point...however, one of the reasons there are many international students there, is because with an degree from the USA or other developed countries..it's easier to get a job pretty much anywhere in the world. If someone migrates to the USA with a degree, they may not get the same recognition as would a native of the USA. Also, many of the international students are on scholarships...so they get the opurtunity to visit another country...why not? university in the USA is also quite flexible when compared to other places...night classes, weekend classes, online classes...ect. Also, because some of the international students may breeze through the university education there...why not? For example, the things that I learned in high school (British System), was covered when I was in my 2nd year of college.

i think religion in general is evil. thrughout history it has been used as a method for opressing people

Well...not a bad point...religion has its ups and downs..for example..religion has tried to promote good family ethics (i'm not so sure about now). Some religous groups do voluntary stuff (buliding, aid in times of crisis). Some donate money, it promotes their Bible standards ect...but religion has also been at the center of much controversy..such as why there is so much denominations in christianity..after all...isn't it the same Bible some may reason...Also, look at the abuse and financial scandals that have hit may churches in recent times...look at the wars that some agree with..religion has it's good, but also misleads people and can be a source of division...has even caused people to divorce due to religous differences! People have also used Holy Writings...such as the Bible to back-up how they want to live...for example, some church leaders have used the doctrine of hell to drive fear into their church members.

Yes..in addition....some south american/caribbean countries model there education system based on the british system...i remember those A-levels..

joshSCH....yes, I am a product of both the American and British system of education...there are loads of difference...and as my friend Infarction pointed out..there are other countries with a much better system of education...thats why at times (not in all cases), you may find students go to the USA for college/university education and breeze through it. What I did in high school, is what I met when I went to college in the USA. So the A level is college work, and the 'O' Level is the equivalent of high school..no offense to anyone..but there are some students of the USA who have tried to complete secondary/high school ciruculum models the british system..and they haven't done so well...But to be honest with you...both education ciriculum has it's up and downs.

Yess..thx AD, I actually got one of the highest grades in the class! However, I'll be posting a few questions where he took off points to see where I went wrong..but most professors want things their way and hardly care if you get the same results..old-school professor..oh well, it's all done now...thx again.

joshSCH...a bit of clarification...A levels are the equivalent of college work and not high school work. Good discussion though!

Good day to all of you who assisted me. I never thought I'd pass this class, but with all your help, I made it. This is the only C++ course that I needed...so I really wont have any c++ questions to post around here to bug anyone...but i'll still hang around...A big thanks again to the forum...Today was my last day of class and I just had my final exam...it entailed structs and arrays.
