What is the exact name and location of that exe? I see no signs of infections in your log.

The exe file was my c:\temp folder (where i download everything before moving or installing it). I have ran my system restore and this seems to have removed the exe file. I have read on another site that the avipreview is causing this on a lot of people (as its not actually the real avi preview).

charlesworth82 0 Newbie Poster

Hi all,

Back again with another problem. I downloaded avi preview. While downloading MCafee flashed up saying the file was a trojan (and like Mcafee couldnt do anything about it). I now have an exe file that is always in use when i try and delete it. I have ran ad-aware, ewido and spybot.

Any help would be appreciated. Please see log below

Hi all,

Hope someone can help me on this. Our company is giving away a lot of old machines.

They have only been used for running data on (dont know what exactly) so they havent bothered with wiping them. My problem is that I can not log in to the pc to format it (it is windows XP). Can i format the computer anyway without loggin in - or are these machines worthless to me? I have a licence to XP (old computer is dead).

Any help would be appreciated.

yes the problem ist the "Football Manager 2005 no cd crack.exe". This file was also the cause of my problem.

dxsetu.exe is a hidden file. you have to check "show hidden files" in the "File options".
i dont know if the words in "" an correct, because my WinXP is in German

Yep had exactly the same problem and it was because of the Football Manager 2005 no cd crack.

Tried all the above and still cant connect. Tried the help from semantic and it couldnt even find the files that needed removing - will probably run over this again today and see what happens.

I also have recently received the DXSETU.EXE error. I also have OPE9.EXE running on my computer which wasnt on before and a problem with winsock.scr. The CMD.EXE also seems to be running at 100 CPU. Will try all this tonight and post tomorrow - hopefully somebody can help me get rid of this as it is really annoying and seems to make my compute die.

Thanks,

James
