I would put some type of reminder after each article, to encourage them to join the forums to further discuss the topics. And if anyone asks a question, be extra polite and super helpful in responding to them. That seems to the be the best way to encourage more people …
I'm interested in what others are reading and talking about. I don't have the time to go through all the web pages out there to see what's going on, so I rely on social networks to find the information in the topics I am interested in.
