If you've taken a marketing class, you were definitely taught about the "4 P's" (Product, Place, Promotion and Price). I could sit here and talk about that, but I'd rather get a little more specific and talk about how it pertains to internet marketing. Product: What are you selling? What are you offering? What makes you unique compared to your competitors? These are all very valuable questions to ask yourself before moving forward with an advertising campaign. Perhaps you have many products that you offer. You must decide which product will be most effective to advertise. After all, you're going …

There are a lot of members of Daniweb who run their own websites, and even many members who run SEO firms. I've given SEO a lot of thought, and I can only conclude this: SEO is totally unethical. At it's foundation, all you are doing is artificially effecting your search engine rankings - it's not occuring naturally. To me, the best type of SEO is popularity. The more popular your site is, the higher ranked you would be (based on backlinks, etc). Simple and clear :o . I really feel that SEO is comparable with changing an unborn child's genetic …

My funny pictures website has an advertising system that is basic. I want to improve it to attract more advertisers. Currently you only need a 728px by 90px a image, a link and your bid. The higher the bid the faster the results and the cost is obviously higher. It's very simple. I don't get a lot of hits now, but when I do I want to be ready. Can you help me come up with great ideas for advertisers? Here is what I came up with ... 1. Make ads like PTC websites where users earn for clicks. 2. …

Google's seemingly always changing indexing algorithm continues to hit site rankings as the search giant continues to drive a new generation of SEO relying upon original and relevant content generation and sharing above all else. Now a panel of SEO experts in the UK has warned that companies need to avoid putting all their SEO eggs into the one Google basket and instead embrace SEO strategic evolution in order to maintain and grow traffic. ![dweb-google](/attachments/small/0/dweb-google.jpg "align-right") At a round-table discussion, hosted by cloud provider UKFast, Sam Allcock, CEO of Custard Media, stated that the key to successful audience growth was …

If you want more customized search results on google then it's always good to use filters while going for a particular research. For that you can try given below search terms. 1. Use of quoted searches: If you are looking for specific results of particular term then apply "" in your search while typing in google search box for example. "This is Sample Search Query" and hit enter. You will get exact results of pages which contain the keyword. 2. Use of +sign: This trick is interesting. If you are looking for a product with specifications then you can use …

Some of my connections on LinkedIn have been sending me requests to also connect with them on ReferHire and Dock (if you're on LinkedIn, you probably know what I am talking about.) So far, I have resisted. My first impression is something like, "Great. More social media networks. Isn't there enough already!" But I am wondering if any DaniWeb members have experience with either of these communities. If so, what is your impression?

I see a lot of people having success with Facebook. Espacially in my niche, memes. But I find it hard to drive traffic from Facebook for free to my current followers. I have a business page that has 24,000+ followers. But I only get less than a hundred reach on any single post. Is Facebook marketing dead? Or am I doing it all wrong? I have no idea. I don't want to pay evertime I want to reach my audience. What do you guys think?

Hello to you all guys, There is a time to upgrade, and I believe that such moment has arrived to my company. To frame it properly: I went from running a small online shop just as a side hustle to working full-time on it, because it is my main income source now. I didn't have such a good job, so making the switch wasn't so hard, because I always wanted to gain full economic independence, and as it seems, I'm driving towards that! Anyways, coming back to the main topic, I'm looking for a solid software solution that my Virtual …

I haven't used Twitter but keep seeing it mentioned in the social media community. And a couple weeks ago, I attended a short course in which Twitter was mentioned as a tool for job hunting (in addition to LinkedIn). So now I am considering creating an account and trying it out. But first I have several questions: How is Twitter any different from simply emailing a person, or getting their Facebook updates (you still have to connect with those contacts beforehand)? Even if I was the first person to discover something interesting (e.g. - Russian tanks in my backyard coming …

Hi everyone, Let's get to the question ... I am wondering if it is possible to build links or get higher ranking doing PPC. this is my theory, why don't people spend money on PPC to get visits and then those visitors will do SEO for them by linking to them and what ever effects ranking instead of hiring an SEO agent. you are going to spend money eventually, why not PPC? I wonder if any of you tried this before or see it as a good idea? I haven't tried it yet, but I am planning to. Please share …

I want to advertise my online shop but I am not entirly sure what the best tools are for that. I was thinking about creating a digital flip magazine where I would display my current/new products and then either embed it in my website and/or send it via mail to my potential cutsomers, but I have no experience so far when it comes to email-marketing or which tool to best to use for such a flip magazine. Also, would you as a reader rather prefer such a digital flipbook or rather a simple plain PDF? Thanks!

It's that time of the year again when the whole 'prediction' business machinery gets fired up. So I thought I would grab some of the ones from my inbox that are perhaps most applicable to the digital marketing sector. The following were inspired by some crystal ball gazing by the folk at the Talkwalker social analytics people, and caught my attention today. So, what does the gathered DaniWeb consciousness make of them? Accurate, likely or total nonsense? Here goes: 1. **Facebook will become a major competitor to YouTube** during 2018 in terms of 'social video' consumption. This on the back …

I read about a lot of people who ranked their site without building a single link. Does posting great content or building a great site can get you ranked higher? What if I'm in a competitive niche, do I need to build links? Or should I post my content to Social Media and wait for links to be built?
