Have you tried removing the client PC's from the domain and re-joining them to the domain?

It doesn't matter which PC I try on. However, I think I may have just fixed the problem. A backup Domain Controller was having replication issues. I fixed that, and now the user is able to log on. Not sure why that was the problem, as they should be able to log on with just one Domain Controller authenticating, but there ya go.

Thanks very much for the response.

I have AD running on a server 2k3 domain. I recently added a couple of new users. They are unable to access the domain, however. When they try, the get the "system could not log you on, make sure your user name & password are correct,etc" pop up. After I restarted the server, one was able to connect, but the other still was denied. I tried creating a test account, restarted again, and neither the test account nor the legit user account are able to logon. There are no errors in any of the event logs.

I'm stumped!

I'm gonna assume we're talking about XP here. First make sure its not the automatic restart. MS decided that we didn't want to see BSOD's, so XP is set by default to restart if an error occurs. Go to My Computer>Properties>Advanced>Startup & Recovery Settings. Make sure Automatically Restart is unchecked. Now, if you are having an error, you will get a Blue Screen with some info that will hopefully lead you to a solution.

ATX reset fixed this. Thanks Dazza!

Not fixed after all. rebooted normally a couple of times. Then I let it run for about an hour to do an AV update, shut down and hooked it back up in the user's cube, and guess what? Same thing.

Have you tried an ATX reset by any chance? As that will usually solve most power related issues.

Hi all;

I have a machine that will sometimes fail to boot after a restart. If it gets shut down and restarted, the PSU & CPU fans start, but nothing else. No POST beeps, no lights come on, nada. If I unplug it & wait 15 mins or so, it boots right up.
I thought maybe the PSU was the problem, and replaced it, but it still does the same thing. It doesn't seem to be overheating, as I can load it up, maxing out the processor & page file till it locks up and it doesn't fail. Anyone ever seen this?

It's a grey box computer with:
AOpen MX4SGI-4DN2
1 GB Ram
3GZ P4
40GB HDD
Win XP Pro
