Thanks, Bob! Expecially love the last line, the Conclusion. rand() is great! But for small programs. I use some complicated external library and rand() is not working.

This is mostly C++ in general books. Isn't is easier to start with Petzold if one is going to program under Windows?

Interesting discussion. Being polite requires not being clumsy. Like when opening a door when someone doesn't expect it and helps you the door may hit someone on the other side.
