I used to be able to have 5 or so webpages open, my AIM buddy list & a word document open and have no slowing down or any problems at all... Now, if i have my buddy list open and i go to check my email on the web, my computer just stops, the mouse stops, you cant press ctrl alt del and i have to shut the power strip to restart the computer. i dont know what happened, it just started doing this recently.

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

i did the deleting and emptying and everything... but every once in a while the same AVG pop up comes up with the monster on it saying i have (i think) the same virus.... so i keep moving it to the virus vault and emptying everything again... what else can i do bc i dont think this is working?

and thanks... i created a new folder with my temps in it!

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

i got another pop up from my AVG scanner... and it said i had a trojan horse downloader in my temp internet files... (i think thats what it meant, i checked "move to vault" but that didnt work last time i did it...) what can i do?

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

i went to unistall my aim+ and reinstall it and it keeps asking me for the executable but when i go to the c folder with aim it just keeps telling me to enter the executable...?

also... when i was removing it through add/remove... there were these wierd things... one was called "home search assistant" one was "search extender" and one was "shopping assistant" and i NEVER downloaded anything like that... and when i tried to delete them... the same pop up came up for each...

unable to open http://looking-for.cc/uninstall/homesearchassistant.html or
unable to open http://looking-for.cc/uninstall/searchextender.html or
unable to open http://looking-for.cc/uninstall/shoppingassistant.html

why cant i get rid of there? is this a virus?

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

thanks! and sorry! so i dont need to delete anything else?

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

i dont know what that real.com thing is either...

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

and i saw that winmiexe thing in the log, but its not on the hijack this to delete it... so i dunno if its really there or not

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

oh yeah... i have no idea what that radio thing is either?! can i delete it?

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

my search is working fine now!!! but is the winexe thing mean something didnt fix?

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

also... about that part... there is a c:\windows\winmi.exe and a c:\windows\system\wmiexe.exe

should i "unload all instances" to both of those & the iphl32.exe?

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

how do i unload all instances?

there is a 'kill process' 'refresh' and 'run' buttons

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

also... now google is my homepage? i didnt do that it just happened... and the searching from the address bar is still adding the 20% thing to whatever i type and going to page not being able to be displayed...

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

im also getting the windows security pop up again

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

also, each time i restart... the little shield with an x in it is at the bottom next to the time... and the bubble pops out of it saying... your virus protection is at risk and there is spyware tracking everything

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

i got the log for buster to work ( i went into safe and did it again..)

i did the buster scan and saved it as text.log... i searched for those 2 things and only the second one was still there so i deleted it... im doing the house call and so far there is 2 non cleanable trojan viruses....

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

the pop up i keep getting says its from WINDOWS SECURITY CENTER... and it says "warning: windows firewall detected suspicious network activity on your computer. malicious software codes try to steal your privacy information such as credit card numbers electronic mail accounts financial data and passwords. do you want to protect your computer? yes or no

i just got the pop up again...

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

also... i just checked, by typing something in the address bar and pressing enter, and it is still adding that 20% thing like i said before and saying page can not be displayed?

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

the two you asked me about looked like the names of the files that were "viruses" according to the AVG so i deleted them with everything, ran the hoster and here is the new log file... if its okay... can you tell me how to set the new restore point? and should i get rid of adaware and spybot? i got the pop up again about my credit #'s being tracked... its not a pop up like the ads that come up when your looking on the web, it looks like a windows pop up, like when you cant open a program bc you have no memory left... and also there was a little sheild at the bottom by the time and date... saying my computer might be infected?!? and when i clicked on it *before i cleaned it just now* it said i should remove my spyware...

I used to be able to just type in something in the address bar and press enter and it would take me to the msn search page... now it puts a http:///?%20 before what ever i typed... (example... if i searched for dvds it wouldnt go to the msn website... it would go to the "page can not be displayed website and the address bar would say http:///?%20dvds)

I have adaaware and spybot and i updated them both, ran them and fixed the problems... (besides for the usave one because i think thats how my bearshare runs for free?) i also have AVG free and it said it found 2 viruses but i deleted them as well...

what should i do? i had this problem once before and i did the whole shut system restore off and hijack this and such...

ALSO... before i noticed the 'searching through address bar' not working... a pop up came up, and i dont know if its from windows or a virus but it said windows in the top bar, and the message said i was being tracked and it would be tracking my credit card numbers and passwords and asked if i wanted to know how to fix it... i said no...

please help me!!! i have an older comp with a lot of things saved on it and i cant afford to lose anything from a virus crashing... and i especially cant afford to …

i use AVG anti-virus checker, it does it every nite @ 2am...

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

i meant that in safe mode [which i went into b4 i saw your response that it was ok] i tried to delete it & it deleted... but i couldnt find it in the recycle bin to restore it...... so i just rebooted into normal mode... and i couldnt do anything to bring it back....

is it bad that i deleted it?!?!

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

woops!!! the one with the ~ was gone when i rebooted in safe mode, and when i went to delete the iadhide one... just to see if it would let me delete... it went away... will i have to reinstall something now?? bc when i rebooted normally i set my system restore back on and created a new restore point......

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

the one in C then in WINDOWS... its called TEMP... it has the cookies folder in it, the history folder in it and the temporary internet files in it... the a bunch of wierd things too... it wont let me delete all the wierd things one is called ~df2f53.temp and one is called iadhide.dll should i go into safe mode and delete these two???

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

also when i try to delete about 26 things in my temp folder, it wont let me... i deleted all the cookies & temporary internet files...

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

 should i be saving all the HJT logs... the extra folder things in the folder with the HJT icon???? just wondering... here is the new log... is there anything wrong????

oh boy... okay i will do all of this tonight when i get out of work @ midnight & post it for you... did i do something wrong last time & that is why the trojan horse is back (or still on here?) :o

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

c:\_restore\temp\a0000350.cpy IS BACK... it comes up when my computer scans everynite for viruses... it says it is a TROJAN HORSE REVOP.C & my virus scanner says it cannot be removed or even moved to the virus vault when the option comes up to remove it...

what do i do???? this stupid trojan horse thing in my c:\_restore\temp\a0000350.cpy (the last 3 numbers always change) has been on my computer for a while...

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

i cant quarantine it... i tried using adware last time i told you about this... and it found some new things so i quarantined them and deleted them and now this virus scanner said the trojan horse is back now... please help!!!

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

          i hate my computer lately

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

i just had my normal virus scanner which scans every night @ 2am tell me i had another trojan horse virus that couldnt be removed from my computer (like when it asks you to fix it... this one tells you you cant fix this virus...) what is this? what can i do??? i thought i was all set... :(

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

today everytime i shut my moniter offf (which i usually do when im not at my computer) my AIM messanger signs off... and its been acting up a lot today... does this have something to do with me fixing everything the last couple days or do you think its just my internet connection? (i have cable) i know its a stupid question but i have no idea...

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

is there anyway you can show me what the link said about 'So how did I get infected to start with'??? it just keeps saying cannot find server

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

:) :) :) :) :) THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH... is there anything i should do with the ad aware or spyware or hijack this anymore?!?! should i just leave them on my computer??? should i do them every once in a while??? [even though i wouldnt have any idea what to delete or fix... hahah :o ]

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

i think i copied and pasted the same one from the safe mode... here i tried again... hopefully im not still messing up!!!

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SPP32M] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SPP32M.exe

That line was different the time i deleted it before like i said... when i scanned the computer with HJT the first time & copied the text log it was different, and when i scanned and checked and deleted those three things it was some other letters.... now i scanned it again... just to see if it would change and it said another different set of letters than the first time i posted it, and different from the one i deleted this morning before work...

now it is O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SSDPSRV] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SSDPSRV.exe

i thought i deleted that b4 (with different letters) but its back... is that ok?! i dont know how to "if it is there in task manager, end program on it B4 removing it with HJT."

if you have time, i would definitely need (and appreciate the help!!!) thanks!!!!!

fitchfrog19 0 Junior Poster in Training

ok i did the first part, i cant reboot n do the next part until later tonight, i have to work until midnight...

but when i changed folders... the numbers n letters changed next to the windows system thing so it wasnt SPP32M anymore... it was something else but i deleted in anyways......... is that ok???? i will reboot in safe mode around midnight then post a fresh list.... thanks for being patient with me!!!!
