Naa, its not just promotion...The people who have played the game tell the tale of its success.

Graphics not less than an eye candy, gameplay nothing less than an innovation, the flexibility to provide enjoyment to all kinds of players etc etc....What more do you need ?

My opinion: Its not pure promotion but also the promise to provide the subscribers nothing but the best.

A few points:

  • Dont use the old style of header inclusion (ie the .h one). Include your headers as
#include <iostream>
          #include <iomanip>
          using namespace std ;
  • Don't use system("pause") to pause your program. Its a non portable way and takes way too much of resources to just pause the program (OS calls and all that). Better use cin.get() to pause for user input.
  • Any specific reason why you have chosen q to be character type ? That's where your problem lies. Even if the user enters 1, it would be taken as '1' (character 1) and its decimal equivalent would be 49. So in the end, you set the stream precision to 49.
  • Change the data type of q from char to int or something like that and you should be fine.

Hope it helped, bye.

PS: Grr..Joey beat me to it.

Are you talking about creating class instances in a VB program... ?

~s.o.s~ 2,560 Failure as a human Team Colleague Featured Poster

Hello there my friend. I really respect your enthusiasm but you must go a bit slow. Talking about DirectX, graphics and all that when you are just learning C / C++ is too much.

Please learn to crawl before you start running. Get your concepts about the things which are not directly related to a particular language (eg. data structures, algorithms ) a bit cleared up.

As far as books are concerned, I know they are expensive. But if you really have in your heart then nothing can stop you.

For C related free stuff you can see here.

For a really good C++ ebook you can see here and also a good site for C++ tutorials.

Hope it helped, bye.

VB can be used to read registy keys. So if you know the path where the application would be placed in the registry (registry path and installation path are two different things) along with the key which is associated with the "version" part of software, you can easily achieve this.

Look for MSDN reference for reading values from registry and you would be almost done.

~s.o.s~ 2,560 Failure as a human Team Colleague Featured Poster

VB as such is pretty easy language to learn for a beginner. So don't worry, you can easily learn VB using some good books and reading forum threads for the problems people have previously faced.

No math as such is required for coding VB applications, but then again it depends on the kind of domain you are interacting with. But for general purpose application development, only school level mathematics is required.

Maybe something like this:

Dim rs as recordset
set rs = db.Openrecordset("SELECT CompanyCode FROM abc WHERE AboutCompany LIKE '*x*'")

Here * stands for zero or more characters. So this query will pull out records like xaz, taz, z etc.

[edit]Ah..too late[/edit]

Create the project of your choice in VB and then make the executable file. Place the file created in the \windows\system32 folder.

Then go to the screensaver dialog box by right clicking on the desktop and then selecting properties. Select the screensaver with the name which you had given to the project and it will be done.
