I would like to know how a .x file is animating the model , is it either with bones or frames?, is there anyway tell learn by opening the file in notepad or something?, thanks in advance...

the X format can be in both binary and ASCII,
although I've only seen ASCII so far...
I currently don't know too much about the format myself,
but I can tell you it uses bones to animate,
and that the animations are internal
