Does anyone know how to install Python3.0a5 on a Windows Vista OS / AMD64 AthlonX2 platform?

I downloaded the amd64 version of Python3.0a5 but Vista won't install it -- although it has msi.

After much 'googling' of the matter, I found that many other people have similar problems with Python and Vista refusing to talk to one another.

I have tried a few sollutions that apparently have worked for at least some of these other people. But after 1 1/2 weeks I am just about worn out and ready to give up -- they have not worked for me.

For example, one idea was to use the command prompt as administrator to 'install' python.

Another idea was to manually change the path in the envirnment variables section of advanced system settings.

Cheers,

Hugh
