making a game using java(Begineer)

hi i am in my last year and have to make a project on the game called carrom but i dont know how to start , can any body help me please for eg how to make software specifications ,how tom start etc..

Hi,
First thing is layout your structure on paper, or a big white board (thats what I have in my room, 35$ at walmart :P)

Then setup your basic layout in a program like eclipse.
