Hello, I need to generate a unique id of a computer, but in theory even if it format the computer, the id remains the same.
I thought of mac address, but is not guaranteed to be very unique.

Working with Linux (Debian, Arch Linux)

are there any guarantees that any id you come up with will unique.. if so, how will you make this determination...
