I suggest you Download and install NetBeans (with Java ME).
They have several examples on how to build new apps.
Go to File> New> Samples
If you already know Java, then Java ME is a piece of cake.
Go through the Java ME APIs and visit SUN's website for more help.
The APIs are given in (installed directory)/NetBeans 6.7.1/mobility8/Java_ME_platform_SDK_3.0/docs/api/
