I am a first year engineering student and i am very intresred in programming using c++ basically to use it in creating my own search engine.Please anyone to help in step by step as I have started learnig c++ language because I dont have prior kowledge in programming.

The first step could be read a tutorial http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/ and put effort in file working, in Daniweb code snippets you will find very a good file example : http://www.daniweb.com/code/snippet249201.html

Here's some help:
1. Research "site translators"
2. Find a piece of paper
3. Find a pen
4. Begin writing an algorithm
5. Begin translating algorithm to pseudocode/code
6. Get stuck on code
7. Come to DaniWeb to ask for help
8. Read the posting guidelines (link1) (link2)
9. Create a post that follows the rules.
