(Before you read on I want to let you guys know I have knowledge of c++)

I was just wondering if there's a way to program a usb driver? I know it's a lot of work but that's what makes programming fun right!!

here's my problem I wanted to make a usb IrDa (infrared) stick receive signals from a broken irda keyboard. (keyboard is intact there's just no receiver for it.)

Any way, is there a way I could build a .dll file or executable to form a working driver so when I plug it in it would sense the usb IrDa receiver and have the keyboard start working again?

I am extremely sorry if this is a dumb question I just really liked that keyboard!
