Putting pictures into Swing

Hey Guys

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have to put pictures such as JPEG's into a swing program as part of an assignment. I've looked in textbooks and online but anything I find doesn't work. Can this be done cause I'm completely lost with it?

This is possible. You should read up on painting within in swing components (containers), as well as reading images from file (ImageIO). That should point you in the right direction.

The quickest and easiest way is to use icons within labels. Take a look at this tutorial: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/icon.html
