I need help with writing a program using a function called "X" that accesses a file called "Y" and locates a specific word "W" in the Y file, then outputs the line number where W is located.

Define "help", because I get the impression you want someone to do it for you.
Not at all Narue, I just can't seem to get it to run properly. My code compiles and builds, but the infile.fail boolean keeps saying that the file was not successfully open. I was referred to this site to get help
with any problems that more experienced programmers than myself could help. Either I was wrong, or you're not the one to help me.
