You can use the software from http://www.aspnetajaxchat.com ... I managed to integrate it with my dating website in no time. Initially I was after userplane's webmessenger, but then decided to go for a plugin free solution. AspNetAjaxchat still requires flash server though if you want to enable the video chat feature. But in my case that was not necessary.
