I m facing weird problem while running regression tests on my WPF Application.

I m getting AccessViolationException with different stacktraces each time.

First :

Message :Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

In Application Event Log I found following entries :

1. Dispatcher processing has been suspended, but messages are still being processed.

2. Faulting application ****.exe, version 1.0.0.*, stamp 4c08d288, faulting module wpfgfx_v0300.dll, version 3.0.6920.1427, stamp 488f3056, debug? 0, fault address 0x0012ec36.

My Application uses Dispatcher from another thread, to change the values of the controls , enable - disable those, change visibility etc., the thred is run multiple times in a second.

Please let me know if anybody has faced this problem?

The following is from the help for Dispatcher.

In WPF, a DispatcherObject can only be accessed by the Dispatcher it is associated with. For example, a background thread cannot update the contents of a Button that is associated with the Dispatcher on the UI thread. In order for the background thread to access the Content property of the Button, the background thread must delegate the work to the Dispatcher associated with the UI thread. This is accomplished by using either Invoke or BeginInvoke. Invoke is synchronous and BeginInvoke is asynchronous. The operation is added to the queue of the Dispatcher at the specified DispatcherPriority.

You need to Invoke any methods that change object values on the UI thread (or are associated with any Dispatcher) when calling from any background thread.

Thanks for your reply.

Actually we have implemented same thing. But one more thing that I want to mention that we are using bitmap effect whether that is a problem or not?

Thanks,
Uttam

Where you able to fix this?
