- Illustratec C# 2008 (for beginners)

- C# 2008 (or 2010) Step by Step)
- C# 4.0 In a Nutshell

but there is plenty of books, especially on amazon.com
Depends what you would like to lean. Or OOP, or databases, of web prgramming, or..

i recommend C# the complete reference by Herbert Schildt.

For a reference/tutorial book, Pro C# 2010 and the .NET 4 Platform is indispensable.

For a reference C# 4 in a Nutshell.

If you are a beginner, Head First C# is a good book, it's a tutorial book that holds your hand through the entire thing, the technologies included are Winform and Console.

For WPF i recommend Sams learn WPF in 24 Hours.

For ASP.NET i recommend Beginning ASP.NET 4 by Imar Spanjaars.

One thing to note, simply reading one book will not make you a professional, it takes countless reading and error/trial through code until you become pro.

also to be a pro, you need to keep programming and look for new ways of do so
