I am making a windows based application in visual studio 2010 using VB.
My project starts with a splash screen and a brief welcome splash then opens the main mdi form.
The menu in the mdi form has the link to open all the other modules.
My question is- How do I represent the MDI form in a DFD?
and do all the other modules be included in the next level of the DFD or the same one as the main mdi form?

Also what process should I use to represent splash screen--->mdi form?

A main form with selections could be represented as a decision, or an output.

My guess would be an output because the form does not chose by itself.

Splash -> MDIForm -> Decision

But are decisions represented in DFDs?

I would say you could represent them with a function shape. ( )
