In a few words, you can't link a database with html, unless it's an XML database of sort.
You need to use a server-side language such as PHP to do this.
What sort of database is it that you want to link?

Its only possible to use database with with XML but not MySQL. You need to use server side application like PHP , perl, cgi, asp.net
