recently i downloaded xampp-win32-1.6.6a-installer.exe with the help youtube.com......i followed all the steps until i finish downloading. fortunately, it was successful. after the download, the video shows the deletion of all the content of htdocs folder...i am now in a doubt if i will also delete all the files inside the htdocs folder

***is there a need to delete the files?? please let me know what htdocs is!!!please help!thanks

That folder is the default root folder for your apache webserver. This is where your html/php files go. The video shows this too, although briefly "Delete files and replace them with your site files"
