Can you block direct access to images in folders but allow the images to be seen from the root folder before it.

For example:

• I want to protect people from accessing everything in the folder /web/wp-content/uploads/
• I want everything in the folders ABOVE that level, such as /web/* to STILL be accessible to that folder.

I tried a bunch of htaccess but it seems to just block the hole domain or not allow the images to be seen.

I am trying to move the thread, I posted in the wriong forum but I can't figure that out either.
