Alt Tags is used to provide alternative text descriptions for images in your web pages. It's primary function is to provide information about images to users who are visually impaired or have images disabled in their web browsers.

Screen readers used by visually impaired individuals, can read aloud the alt text, allowing them to understand the content of the image.
Alt tags help search engines "understand" the context and relevance of images on a page.
Sometimes, images may fail to load due to slow internet connections, browser compatibility issues, or other technical problems. Alt text ensures that users still receive relevant information about the image, even if they can't see it.
