I saw various search engine blogs/journals regarding http to https conversion, where all are saying that it is best to change your website from Http to Https for obtaining better Google rankings. However, is it recommended/accepted by Bing and Yahoo as a ranking factor?

When 'Thefacebook' first launched in February 2004, access was initially restricted only to students of Harvard University where Mark Zuckerberg was a student. Facebook went on to become something of a success, with the social network [controversially being valued at more than $100 billion](http://www.daniweb.com/internet-marketing/social-media-and-web-communities/news/423739/is-the-facebook-bubble-ready-to-burst#post1810124). ![dweb-socl](/attachments/small/0/dweb-socl.jpg "align-right") Microsoft must have been watching from the sidelines, wondering when and if it could join the social networking revolution; conscious of how it was relatively late to embrace both the Internet and search bandwagons but still able to make more than a little impact when it did. Google limped into the social networking space …

Hello everyone, I am having a weird problem with Bing keyword tool and Bing webmaster tools too. I simply can't loging there - all I see is a blank page. I can open both on my smartphone but even there the page loses part of its functionality and I can't use it. I wanted to experiment with Bing PPC but I just can't login, which is kind of silly problem. Anyone has same problem? I am using Windows 7 + Chrome (also Firefox). Thanks.

As goes Google, so goes the rest of the universe -- or at least that's the fear this week after the start up-turned-giant-turned-common verb reported disappointing earnings that sent the Silicon Valley stock over a digital cliff after-hours Thursday. The company pulled in 1.84 billion dollars for the quarter or $5.71 per share, less than analysts' average projection of $6.52 per share. Taking the blame for the disappointing figures are Europe's lackluster economic situation -- Google does a significant chunk of its business in the Euro zone -- and a recent ramp-up in hiring that bumped up total expenses. But …

Hi Does anyone know any way to see how many searches are done for specific keywords for bing? The reason I am asking is that I currently rank no. 1 on bing for a search that has 7 000 monthly searches on Google, but I so far have had no clicks and I don't really understand it. The keywords are definitely appropriate for the site so I don't understand if there is: 1. really low search volume 2. I am seeing different results to others 3. something about bing I don't understand Any help would be appreciated. Henry

The decision means that most of the Internet searches originating in Japan will use Google's search engine rather than Bing. Yahoo Japan is currently the leading search engine in Japan and handles over half of search activity. Yahoo Japan CEO Masahiro Inoue said in a press conference that, "At the present time, we feel there are quite a few areas where Microsoft is not yet ready. Google is one step …

Google recently has made a big play to take over the majority of the internet search business in the Japanese market as part of an aggressive campaign to shut Microsoft out; but Microsoft is not going to sit idly by while Google gains a virtual monopoly in Japan and they have a plan to block the deal. Hello, I have this Windows Phone app I need to do that gets information from the Google places API about places that the user searches for. For each place I need to have a pushpin on a bing map I have inserted. The problem is that I'm a newbie in c# and I don't know how to do what I need. I need to customize each pushpin so that it shows its content when it's tapped on. Also, I want the content to be a textBlock a small image and a button (or icon) for directions from a pushpin designated …

I am working for an Adult Content Website (Adult Toy - ecommerce website). When I signed up for the Bing Advertising Program, it does not accept and ask for 'reasons' for exception. I gave the reason as below: "We are a small online retail company selling adult toys. This is the first time, we are using Bing. Hence, kindly accept the ad." Will this reason be accepted by BING. I look forward to answers from people who have worked in Bing Advertising Program in specific to adult content advertising. Looking forwarding to your reply. Thanks in advance.

Forget the Windows 7 launch, the real big news from Microsoft this week is that it has reached a deal with Twitter to include real-time tweet data in Bing searches. If that wasn't excitement enough for the Twitterati, just a few hours after Microsoft made its announcement Google joined in and announced that it too had reached an agreement with Twitter to do the same. If you still play buzzword bingo, then forget Web 2.0 or even Social Media if you want to score big points, the buzzword today has to be Real Time Web. And that is what has …

A funny thing happened this week. Google tried to become Bing by displaying full color pictures on its Home page, and was undone by a bug. The irony here is just too obvious to ignore. Bing influences Google to change its plain white page, and it comes apart because of a bug. You have to admit, it made Google look pretty foolish. Meanwhile, they must have been having a hearty laugh in the halls at Microsoft over this. Bing's Strengths One of things people have really liked about Bing is the changing high resolution picture it displays on the …

Microsoft has revealed a new, more comprehensive street view system, dubbed Street Slide, set to compete with Google's Street View and Bing Maps' Streetside.According to Microsoft, the Google and Bing systems only allow users to view city streets via an immersive 360-degree panorama or "bubble." And users can travel down the street only by jumping from one bubble to another, creating pixelated images of close-ups and making it impossible to view a whole city block at one time. But Street Slide uses what Microsoft calls "multi-perspective strip panoramas," combining "bubbles" with panoramas. "We demonstrate a seamless transition between bubbles and …

After months of work, I am on page 1 of Googe for both my keywords. HOWEVER, I am on Page 5 of Bing for one, and page 3 for the other. This has gone down from Page 4 and Page 2. Obviously, I am doing SOMETHING right, or I would not be on Page 1 of Google. So what am I doing wrong for Bing? Here are my stats: Yahoo backlinks: 85 Google backlinks: 2 Alexa 5-day moving average: about 1.7M, up from 8M on 29 Jun 11 My site is in my signature. Any suggestions? Thanks John

Hi, Im using Microsoft's Bing Map control in order to display Push Pins based on a series of latitudes and longitudes that i have strored in the database. Once I figure out how to display multiple hard coded push pins, I can figure out how to pass the values from the database into variables. My problem right now is simply trying to figure out how to display more then one push pin. I have an array with four coordinates but only the first one gets displayed. I've been using google blogger for a few years now. My traffic is slowly building and lately I teach myself SEO and promoting, but I wonder if anyone knows: 1. How do I get BING related traffic? 2. Why when I use some Seo tools to see mistakes, they often show me as keywords or as common words this gibberish "widgetmanager, document, _widgetinfo(, new, _registerwidget(,..." and lot more - and usually suggest to improve keywords in this style Is there anything I could do about it? 3. Sometimes I see I get acknowledged description meta tags, sometimes not. (<meta name="description" …

Maybe you're among the few who have seen the changes already; Google Images is getting a facelift this week. Google announced Tuesday that the familiar landing page for an image search will be changing and the site will offer more sophisticated technology for the 10 billion images it has indexed. When Google Images was first built in 2001, it had 250 million images. Four years later it was up to 1 billion. "It’s not just about quantity, though," product manager Nate Smith said in a blog post Tuesday. "Over the past decade we’ve been baking deep computer science into Google …
