I need to take a video posted on youtube that was once a powerpoint and convert back to a powerpoint and print. I can't seem to find a converter for mp4 to ppt, i.e., that would work once I have the video download. Obviously there has to be a free software out there somewhere that can do this. Anyone know of one?

The Kensington Presentair isn't the smallest 'laser pointer' on the planet, measuring in at 60mm x 70mm x 210mm and weighing 25g. Nor is it the cheapest with that $69.99 price tag. However, most of all it isn't just a laser pointer and thinking of it in those terms is something of a mistake. Sure, the Presentair does include a red class 2 laser but that's just the start of it. The clue is in the name Presentair, as this is a fully featured tool for anyone who gives presentations in the course of their working day. ![PRESENTAIR02](/attachments/small/0/PRESENTAIR02.jpg "align-right") The …

I've been racking my brain over this for a few days now. I'm attempting to write a program in Python 3.1 / PyQt 4.7.5 that will open a Powerpoint, go through every shape on every slide, determine if it is a picture and then save that picture to the specified directory with the correct name and extension. So far everything works. The GUI is ok, the logic for my code is fine and it determines the shapes as it should... the only problem is when I try to export the shapes. When it gets to actually exporting the shapes I …

People who are unhappy with the progress of the military actions in Iran and Afghanistan finally have something to blame: PowerPoint. “PowerPoint makes us stupid,” Gen. James N. Mattis of the Marine Corps, the Joint Forces commander, said in an article in the New York Times this week. The article went on to describe how the software "is deeply embedded in a military culture that has come to rely on PowerPoint’s hierarchical ordering of a confused world." Articles in military journals on the same subject appeared in 2009: One in Small Wars Journal and another -- which actually spawned the …

Microsoft is betting that people would rather fork over $US20 a year for the legal right to use its Office application suite than install an old or pirated copy or use one of a growing number of free alternatives. Having been faced with that exact decision myself this week, I think that's a pretty safe bet. This week the company unveiled Equipt, a subscription service for its Office apps that will initially be available later this month through about 700 CircuitCity electronics retailers; the deal is not exclusive. Formerly code-named Albany, the service provides Office Home and Student 2007 for …
