Oh how I miss Alan (diafol) at times like this. Those times being when England beat Wales in the Six Nations rugby :-) Any other rugby union fans left on DaniWeb?

Well here goes - another year and a wide open championship. England must start as favourites now that Ireland faltered against Scotland. France will be kicking themselves as they narrowly missed a win at Fortress Twickenham. Wales took Italy apart in the last 20 minutes, but failed to get a bonus point which may prove to be very costly. C'mon Cymru! Who will you be supporting?

Thought I'd spark up another rugby thread. Interesting week. Japan beating South Africa must go down as one of the biggest upsets ever, possibly in any sport. Georgia beating Tonga was another unexpected result. Although they didn't win, there were some great performances from Fiji (against Australia), Argentina (against the All Blacks) and Canada (against Italy). And then of course, Wales beating England last night. Anybody else following this year's RWC? Who are you supporting? Who do you think will win?

I notice that diafol is a bit quiet this year when it comes to the Six Nations. Can't imagine why :) Saying that has probably just guaranteed a butt-kicking by Ireland for England now (actually don't mean that, think it will be a really tough and close game though). Ditto when it comes to France v Wales this afternoon, depending as usual on which French team turns up.

Anybody else going to be glued to it this year? First result already in: Wales 23 : 15 Ireland Italy were very good, Wales rather indifferent. Great to see Italy attacking and playing with width. They may take a few unexpected scalps this season. Well, they did last year too, but anyway... Next up: France v England Should be very interesting, with Ireland v Scotland tomorrow too. Grand Slam hopes for F/E/I may be crushed this weekend, although the Championship may still be up for grabs if somebody slips. I'll be hoping for a Welsh win. :| Big ask. ![17e78ae607a315d5cccad60591a50154](/attachments/large/0/17e78ae607a315d5cccad60591a50154.png …

Ok, I know I'm in a minority here, but anyway... [I left out the 7th option, "Who Cares?"] :) Six Nations Championship kicked off this afternoon, with the following results: France 30 - 12 Italy Scotland 6 - 13 England Ireland TOMORROW Wales Judging by the performances so far, I reckon it will be a close thing between France, Ireland or Wales. Italy were brave, but could not withstand the onslaughts of France and ended up getting thoroughly stuffed. Scotland were good in parts and by rights should have won, but they choked/fumbled at every decent scoring opportunity. England were …

England just scraped to a hard fought win against a physical and enthusiastic Argentina side in their opening match of the 2011 Rugby World Cup campaign in New Zealand. But while sports fans the world over get excited about how their country is performing in the initial pool group matches, some folk have other motives for clapping their hands with joy over the current wave of interest in Rugby Union: cyber-criminals are raking in the money with a whole host of Rugby World Cup 2011 scams. Nick Johnston, a senior software engineer with Symantec, has warned that advance fee fraud …
