Hello, I'm new to the DaniWeb community and I am in need of some serious help. I am taking a web design class, but the teacher I currently have now has no idea what he is doing; he is an Info Tech teacher, but we have two classes at the same time. I have to create a shopping cart for my class, and I you can tell, I have no idea how to create a shopping cart with HTML and JavaScript. I do not have any money to give for anyone's help, but if anyone thinks they might be able …

The annual 'Black Friday' discounted shopping storm is no longer just an American event; it's hit the UK like a hurricane today. Last night police were called to four different supermarkets with heavily discounted televisions after large crowds started to gather for the midnight opening. At one Asda store (a Walmart owned UK supermarket chain) there was fighting as shoppers opted to get physical in order to secure that electrical bargain. Then, both the Tesco supermarket and Currys PC World electrical superstore websites buckled under the pressure of would-be shoppers keen to get an online bargain. Next it was clothing …

The odd thing about these particular headphones is the marketing, in my opinion. The very bright colours, mine were what I can only describe as dayglo yellow, are not offset by any calmer touches; the same colour is applied to the wires, cups, buttons, jacks, headband, everything. It's a deliberate ploy to attract the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) fans, and the back of the box even states "EDM is taking over clubs and festivals all around the world, provoking the return of neon body paint, fluffy boots and glow sticks. In keeping with this trend, the KS iD headphones come …

Black Friday has historically been a very American phenomenon, marking the start of the seasonal Xmas shopping rush and happening the Friday after Thanksgiving. In the past it has led to scenes of semi-rioting and chaos in some stores as the Walmartarati fight over bargain electrical goods. The UK got a taste of the madness yesterday, with shoppers working themselves into a frenzy at various Walmart-owned ASDA supermarket stores across the country. Some of the most violent scenes were witnessed at the West Belfast, Northern Ireland branch of ASDA where one woman was hospitalized and [reports](http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/asda-stores-witness-black-friday-chaos-as-fights-break-out-over-televisions-8973447.html) of pensioners being pushed …

The iPad is, as those annoyingly creative TV adverts show us, used for all sorts of things by all sorts of people. However, according to a press release that hit the DaniWeb news desk today, you might be forgiven for thinking that shopping isn't one of them. As usual though, the devil is in the detail. [attach=right]23979[/attach]The press release exclaimed that the Apple iPad was failing to be used by online shoppers and went on to reveal that a nationwide study of consumer habits in the UK had shown that Brits are not embracing tablets for online shopping and claimed …

Discount coupons are OK, but consumers consider drive-by location marketing an invasion of privacy. That's the warning message that research across four countries (US, UK, Mexico and India) by ISACA would appear to be flagging loud and clear to retailers wanting to maximise the marketing potential of customers with smartphones. ![9e672bce476015a5b10a7af7765c1643](/attachments/small/0/9e672bce476015a5b10a7af7765c1643.jpg "align-right") ISACA, which specialises in helping business get the most value while managing risk related to information and technology, asked more than 4,000 consumers about their holiday season shopping habits and their opinions on privacy. This revealed that shoppers in India and the UK were the most resistant to …

Hi all, I'm trying to delete elements from an array - The array should be a shopping cart - So I need to ad/remove items from it. So far I can add items no problem, but i seem to keep failing to delete the correct indexes. The array contains a product id and the quantity of that product in the cart. I have this: // Cart array: // Should that be build in another way? $cart = array( 'data' => array( 'product_id' => array( 1000 ), 'quantity' => array( 1 ) ) ); print_r( $cart ); echo '<br /><br />'; …

That dramatic statement pretty much sums up the feelings of many people taking part in a recent survey. They suggest that online banking and online shopping are akin to playing Russian Roulette and it is only a matter of time before their security, credit cards and bank balances are breached. And women are more worried about this financial doomsday scenario than men. ![shootme](/attachments/small/0/shootme.jpg "align-right")The figures from the survey which analysed attitudes towards online shopping and banking, were revealed today by mobile security outfit [Entersekt](http://www.entersekt.com) and the research was undertaken by OnePoll. It suggests that 410 out of the 1000 people …

Research from ecommerce solutions provider SellerDeck (which used to be known as Actinic Desktop) has revealed the top ten ecommerce turn-offs that online retailers need to avoid at all costs if they are to turn clicks into sales. ![sellerdeck](/attachments/small/0/sellerdeck.jpg "align-right") At the very top of the avoid list comes insecurity. Your website doesn't actually have to be insecure to turn the shoppers away, but just give the impression that it might not be secure. This should be engraved in stone and filed under 'well duh!' to be honest, but it seems that too many online retailers still fail to take …

I'm not your average male shopper. I'll go to the department store and try on a bunch of clothes before I decide on what I want to wear. I'll try on 5 different pairs of jeans before I choose one. I want to get the one that fits me best and looks good. So I picked up a couple of items, and as you can imagine, that took away a good chunk of my day. It isn't exactly fun standing in a dressing room with all sorts of pins and needles on the floor. Some of my friends prefer to …
