I am having a huge problem. In my stylesheet I have: @media only screen and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 700px) { code1 } @media only screen and (min-width: 1280px) and (max-width: 1400px) { code2 } my browser window is currently 640x960, so only code1 should run... right? But code1 and code2 are both running. How do I change my media queries so that only code1 will run with my browser window at 640x960?

Hi, I know I've asked questions pertaining to the site design before, but I'm curious as to the overall theme. We seem to have a lot of different styles, some I think may be left over from the previous incarnation of DW. There seems to be a lot of flat/block/square-edged items, such as the nav/head area and text items (e.g. profiles), post avatars. Then we have the more cuddly round-cornered action buttons and badges, and the colours of the buttons seem a bit lost on me (although it has been explained to me). It seems a little 'random' to me, …

Hi After having a problem or two with CSS based web pages I have made I find that the problems are too be resolved when the absolute positioning is removed. Well that is what has been suggested. Since in some cases I have used code from other web sites. Web sites that are often established by well respected web design authors I am puzzled as to whether the absolute positioning is really required. Can the use of absolute positioning be avoided? When is absolute positioning absolutely (pun no apologies given) required? A useful learning tool can be found at : …

I recently converted all my .html files to .php, and while the stylesheet they're linked to (which hasn't changed) works almost perfectly, the <h1> through <h6> tags (headings) don't work with the new .php files. The font appears the same size as the body, which is too small to be legible with the font I chose for my article titles and subtitles, which use <h1> and <h2>. It's strange; when I update any class at all, the changes appear in-browser on refresh, as they should. But not so for the headings. Any advice?

Hi all, I have been messing around with datagrid styling for a couple of days now, and I am having one issue left which I can not seem to solve. I want to highligt the text of the row on which I hover with the mouse. Well this seems like an easy task, but at the same time I want custom selection color of the row background and foreground. This combination seems impossible for me to solve. If I override the datagridrow style I can get everything but the selection style on the row. If I also override the datagridcell …

Actually I am having a problem with the content width where the content is a link. Here is the shorten code of it:
<!DOCTYPE> <html> <head> <style> #main{ width:100px; background:cyan; } </style> </head> <body> <div id = "main"> <a href="#">This is a very long long one.... hahahahahahhahaha</a> </div> </body> </html>
by using this, the outcome will show that the link hahaha.... will be overflow. Any idea on how to made the overflow link go to another new line?

Hi Whilst I have checked both the HTML and CSS for errors and have found none I have an issue with rendering using IE8 and IE7. IE9 is fine as are the other browsers. When I click on the navbar, the display loses all styling and displays for a second or less a default white background and text stretching across the full width of the display. Since my website background is a very dark shade of grey, almost black, the effect is most unpleaant. Has anyone any idea why this is happening? Geoff
