I'm trying to get my computer to output audio in mono but despite selecting the option within the Ease of Access centre to enable mono audio, my audio is still coming out stereo. The reason I need mono audio is because I need to hear all of some audio tracks I have. Parts of the audio are only available from the left channel and some only the right but my left earpiece no longer works. In addition to enabling mono audio in the Ease of Access centre, what else do I need to do?

Hello, I have a PC at the office, which was by default a Windows 8 Pro OEM licensed one (not 8.1), but for some unknown reasons, it was downgraded to Windows 7 Pro, which is again showing "OEM" in the activation Product ID. I would like to format and perform a clean install of Windows 10 Pro (v. 1803) on the PC, and use the existing Windows 8 Pro OEM key to activate it after install. I would like to get a second opinion before doing so, knowing that the PC did not receive any of the Windows 10 free …

A cumulative update May-18 released by Microsoft, there are some new features added and I update my W10 in my lap but after updating VS-15 Pro does not load its full features, when I try to run it and for that reason I do not open any solution or create any new solution. Every time when I try to open a solution it always redirect me to read applog file. But in blend the solution opens correctly and runs as my desire. I tried to repair the VS but nothing is happened. After that reinstalling VS it also shows me …

A relative had a pretty beat up qualifying Windows laptop so I took a chance that this deal was still working. Read https://www.cnet.com/how-to/microsoft-windows-10-free-upgrade-offer-assistive-features/ but the new expiry date is now Jan 16, 2018. I have changed from a previous 1TB disk from Toshiba to a 500 MB SSD from SAMSUNG. I have generated a full image backup, and after with a bootable pen I have tryed to restore the new 500 disk with it. Immediatly at the begining systems generats an error and aborts process. Was it because the disks have different lenghts? Or because disks are diferent types? I have solved the problem with a a bootable pen that restores the disk as it was previously when I bought the Toshiba satellite PC. This is a SW included in the Toshiba PC. …

So I realise my title may be rather vague but I honestly don't know how else to word it. Essentially what happened was I was having difficulty installing Ubuntu onto my new server rig I built, so I plugged the HDD into a dock on my Win10 rig and installed Ubuntu that way. The problem is that the only way I was able to get it to work was to use a program called Unetbootin and essentially "install" the ISO for Ubuntu directly to my Win10 root directory. This allowed me to install Ubuntu onto the HDD I was using …

I've had this networking problem for a while and it's interfearing with another networking problem. I can share a folder on Computer(A) running Windows10 and have Computer(B) running Windows10 access the shared folder; although I can't share a folder on Computer(B) and have Computer(A) access the shared folder, or any shared folder for that matter ? I read it may have to do with DHCP although that at this point is speculation and I don't want to tinker with something just to spin another problem.

I'm setting up new install of win 10 home premium on a laptop for friend. After setting up the initial local admin account, I created standard local account for friend to use. I wanted to give her ability to install applications so she gets admin password, but I wanted to take away temptation of logging in with admin account, so hid it from login screen. Now I want to make a restore point and backup drive. The problem is, when I try from standard user account, it askes to enter admin username and password, except there are no fields to …

Been having problems when taking HDD's from dead win 10 systems and transferring data via USB adaptor to new Win 10 system. Folders (with files) copy across to their relevant locations, but when trying to look at the files, only the folders show with no files present in them. Pretty sure it's a permissions issue but havn't found a rock solid way of making it work. Help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi guys! It's been a while since I last posted here. I'm having an issue with not being able to remove non-installed fonts. Meaning, the fonts are not installed in the Windows/Fonts folder and cannot be uninstalled the proper way. These fonts came with some kind of hidden-object game that my nephew used to play and got copied into the game folder (ie, not installed into windows), and got left behind after I uninstalled the game. But for some reason windows still claim that they are in use and thus cannot be removed. Sure. I can reboot and delete them …

I have a Toshiba Satellite P55W-C running 64-bit Windows 10 Home. I bought it new less than a year ago. I am the only user. It has an Intel Core i7 CPU, 8 Gigs of RAM, 2.4 GHz. I'm generally surfing the web and streaming audio/video. I'm not a gamer and I'm not running any servers on this computer, so it seems to me that I have more than enough resources to avoid any slow-down of the streaming video/audio. Normally it keeps up just fine, with the following exception. I've been coding using Android Studio. When I compile/install apps to …

HI, We used to have a Win 7 Pro pc running as a file server in our small office - 4 or 5 client PC's attached, all running Windows variants. This was fine, but after 5 years I decided to replace the file server before problems started developing. This is now an i7 processor, 8GB ram and 2TB hard drive running Windows 10 Pro, but throughput across the network has plummeted. No changes have been made to the network infrastructure so I am thinking that a bottleneck has been created with Windows 10. I have created a batch file which …

So, I've read Microsoft's documentation, and it ends up being a lot of words that don't explain anything. I've seen other places of people using DISM commands, but it doesn't explain what they do. I know DISM is used for working with images before deployment, but people are using it for repairing a running instance of Windows. How exactly does it do that? Does it use some files from SxS? What about when Windows does a "Refresh" or "Reinstall", does it use something similar or some files from a recovery partition?
