I am a retired computer "professional" -
.
First used a computer in 1957 -
Started with a specialized simulation language,
soon found myself writing 0's and 1's on a drum based machine
with only teletype and paper tape I.O.
.
Then Fortran on a Single-Disk with card Input, and
later to Unix and Pascal and Lisp and a few others.
.
My first personal computer was a Kaypro.
.
I was fine with DOS - Hated the early versins of Windows -
still find Win-XP problematic.
.
LINUX - here I come (when I can find time).
.
Currently I use two Self-Built Floor-Sitters with Semprons -
One with an MSI MB and one with a BioStar MB.
.
I am now in Sun CIty West, AZ - but will soon return to
PierPort, Michigan - where I spend most of the year.

I arrived at DaniWeb via DogPile, looking for a solution to my
"IDE #1 Error" on a Toshiba Satellite A15-S129
in to which I installed a new Sony CD Drive.
I haven't found my solution yet, but
there seem to be a lot of people with similar problems.
