Perused for years (in the spatial pauses of keeping too busy) - finally thought I'd register.

I'm contemplating creating another non-artificial artificial lifeform; my one and only did not kill me with her terrible 2s revision.

Presently one of my projects is acting as a facilitator to some corporate employees of approximately 2 National PONSI college creditable courses in electronics in a compressed timeframe.

My preferred dev languages [though I definitely write as little code as possible nowadays - implementation is not nearly as important as analysis and design] in decreasing order of preference ::
1) C++
2) Python
3) C
4) Java
5) Fortran
6) VB
7) C#

Preferred compilers ::
1) Visual Age [IBM .... had the best of the best once upon a time ... *sigh*]
2) Netbeans
3) Visual Studio
4) gcc
.... eclipse ... just seems too splintered with too many features being various plug-ins and is still at times inconsistent ... though I admit to not having touched it in 2008 nor so far in 2k9 so it could be much improved :)

Favorite programming rules - Art of Unix Programming: Basics of the UNIX philosophy

My present desktop is an Intel Core 2 quad with 4 gigs and running 64 bit Vista [don't be a hatah lol]. I'm running fedora 10 quite nicely on a low-end Core 2 laptop.

Bachelor degree in Applied Mathematics
Master of Science in Information Science

and working on an MS thesis (besides working working and being a single dad) in CompSci off and on at present [number theory (crypto aspects) / combinatorics]

Hobbies/activities ::
Biking; card games; computer games; cooking & EATING!; family games night; gardening; hiking; jogging; reading; research; weightlifting. I'd like to go bowling, dancing and shooting pool more often but I haven't managed to cram 30 hours into a day.

Anyhow before this starts to look like some freaky geek personal ad my main intent to registering is to lend a helping hand via posts off & on ........
see you in the forums

C++ya,
