There's a meme going around recently that says that if you ever feel forgotten, remember ther was another person in the plane when Amelia Earhart went missing. Not entirely tech related, but I figured I'd see if anyone can name any tech equivalents.

What about all those women who wrote the code for NASA's Apollo program? There was a movie about them if I remember correctly?

So now I know where the last 2 initials in your username are from. And given you put in your profile your first name is Steve, I'm going to assume your initials are SCB. Goodness people! We need to be more creative :-P

Reminds me of my first AOL screen name DaniA82 because my name (at the time) was Danielle A. Horowitz and I was born in 1982.

Yep. Like you, Long Island born and raised (Patchogue). Moved to WV when I was 16.

AOL AIM - I miss the simplicity of those days. I had 5 AIM screennames (I think, can't remember them), two Yahoo Messenger names, and ICQ (don't remember the number). Also had MSN Messenger (no clue what I used to login). SCBWV was never a chat name. I believe it came about because some online portal required at least a 5-character name.

I had DaniA82 as my first AOL screenname, and then when it came to AIM years later, I had CSCGal28 (I was doing a Comp Sci "CSC" degree at the time) and then when I got my first iMac in college, I started using purpleMacGurl for a bit (that one never really stuck).

I also had MSN Messenger (using my email to log in, if I remember correctly). My ICQ # was 27179987. I've been told I had a really low number compared to many.
