Hello,

Every time I use search engine and click on any result, a new window opens a redirected site, leaving the search results page as it was. I researched a few solutions and none of them seem to be working. I don't want to do any damage to my system so I found this site(daniweb). Please help me if at all possible. Here is my HJT log:

Hi welcome to daniweb,
So let me get this straight. You do a search on google, or whatever, for say grape jelly.
Google page comes up with a million choices. You click on one of them on the list. When you do a whole new window opens with the link you clicked on...correct? And your original google search page is still there on the first window. Am I reading you correctly?
So you want, when you click on the link in the google page, you want that google page with the search results to go to the link you clicked...correct?
If this is what you want then you have to change a setting in Internet Explorer 6.
Open Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab, under "Browsing" put a check next to "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts", click Apply/OK

Now, if you are using google there are also preferences you have to set there too so see this'

You have to click Preference on the actual Google web page, scroll down and there is a box there which says;
Open search results in a new browser window. Make sure there is NO check mark there. Then scroll down to the bottom and click the Save Preferences button
