I have Windows 7, 64bit with 8 gigs of RAM. Illustrator worked perfectly for weeks than just today it decides to quit. As soon as I open it, the splash screen shows and the interface opens and a couple seconds later it shuts down. No error message. If I'm fast enough to drop down a menu, it stays open. Or if I open Illustrator by double-clicking an AI file, if I quickly move an object on the drawing, it stops to ask if I want to save changes before exiting. I can't cancel the exit process. I've done the usual, …

Adobe Flash users have been under attack from cybercriminals again, this time courtesy of [a zero day exploit kit by the name of Angler](http://malware.dontneedcoffee.com/2015/01/unpatched-vulnerability-0day-in-flash.html). The exploit kit has been readily available on the dark market, and hits vulnerabilities to be found in Flash Players up to 15.0.0.223, as well as the latest release. There is some uncertainty as to who is at risk from this kit, with some sources claiming Windows 8.1 and Google Chrome users are safe, while others tell me any version of Internet Explorer used with any version of Windows is at risk if Adobe Flash player …

Earlier this month, security outfit FireEye’s 'FireEye as a Service' researchers out in Singapore [discovered and reported](https://www.fireeye.com/blog/threat-research/2015/06/operation-clandestine-wolf-adobe-flash-zero-day.html) on a phishing campaign that was found to be exploiting a zero-day in Adobe Flash Player vulnerability (CVE-2015-3113). That campaign has been well and truly active for a while now, with attacking emails including links to compromised sites serving up benign content if you are lucky and a malicious version of the Adobe Flash Player complete with the exploit code if you are not. Adobe has now [responded with a security update](https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb15-14.html) with the following recommendations: Users of the Adobe Flash Player Desktop …

I've been editing on a (windows based) desktop and now want and need to transition to notebook computers. I've been assured that notebook computers are now showing specs that can rival any desktop based system (if you have the $$$). Specially HP's Z-Book series which is built with video and content creation in mind. However, due to budget constraints I am looking at the Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black Edition as a possible candidate. It sports a fast i7 processor, with 16GB RAM and an Nvidia GTX-860M video card. My question is that do the more compact M-series of Nvidia …

"Our investigation currently indicates that the attackers accessed Adobe customer IDs and encrypted passwords on our systems. We also believe the attackers removed from our systems certain information relating to 2.9 million Adobe customers, including customer names, encrypted credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates, and other information relating to customer orders. At this time, we do not believe the attackers removed decrypted credit or debit card numbers from our systems." These are the words of Brad Arkin, Chief Security Officer at Adobe as he reveals that one of the biggest names in the software business has fallen victim to …

Attached are two images that I took on a Windows 7 machine. They are portions of a document that was just opened in Adobe Reader X (Version 10.1.9). One image is of a yellow ribbon across the top of the document, warning about certain data security risks. The other image shows the options available when the "Options" box is selected. If I select "Trust this document one time only", several fields of the PDF are auto-populated. However, when I open the same document on a MacBook Pro (Mac OS X Version 10.6.8, Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.6), the yellow band …

NVIDIA's CUDA parallel computer architecture is picking up steam and quickly becoming one of the de-facto solution for producing high-end video content. When time is money, companies such as Industrial Light & Magic, and Adobe, cannot always cram every feature or pixel into the finished product. Most consumers might not realize that production technology is a major player in the race for quality, but NVIDIA's Quadro and Tesla product lines, coupled with the CUDA architecture, will determine the future of video as we know it. Apple has done it again. This time with SproutCore, a JavaScript framework that simplifies development of native-looking Web-based applications without the need for Flash or any other specialized runtime. Apple has reportedly contributed loads of resources to the project, which was originally developed by SproutIt creator Charles Jolley. He now works for Apple’s MobileMe service (formerly known as .Mac). Though most of the reports I’ve read about SproutCore are calling it a Flash killer, the SproutCore demo applications I’ve seen make it look more like an Ajax than Flash. And comparing it with Microsoft’s SilverLight makes even …

According to new research from Kaspersky Lab, in the form of a report called [Evaluating the threat level of software vulnerabilities](http://media.kaspersky.com/documents/business/misc/Kaspersky_Lab_Report_Software_Vulnerabilities_final.pdf), 72% of Java users haven't switched to the latest, safest, version despite highly publicised vulnerabilities and resulting security exploits. ![dweb-java011](/attachments/small/0/dweb-java011.jpg "align-right") And it's not just Java, the report also shows that users of older versions of Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader are also failing to upgrade to safer versions, leaving their systems and their data at potential risk of breach. Researchers looked at the most dangerous vulnerabilities (those known to be actively exploited by cybercriminals) found in assorted …

Hi, I have created a windows service for printing PDF's through Adobe reader. The code is as below. **Process.Start(exe, arg);** The command which executes from the above will be like below **C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe,/h /t "D:\test.pdf" "\\servername\PrinterName" "" ""** This was working fine in windows 2000 server. Now we are upgrading to windows 2003 server. In this it is not giving print. Also I'm not getting any exception or any logs. Logs were created as everything working fine. Also in 2003 server this is working from command prompt and from console application also it is working, but when user logged in. …

I made an Edge animation with a stage which is, natively, 1600x900px. I've included it in an `<iframe>` linking to the HTML file outputted by Edge, on the page where it's to be displayed; as not all displays support this resolution, I wanted to use CSS media queries to resize the animation as the resolution went down. I've set up the `@media` syntax, and added the `transform:scale(x,y)` property to the `iframe` tag. Since they're *cascading* stylesheets, I though that the transform would also affect the Edge animation's elements, including the stage; however, it didn't, for some reason.<br> The problem consists …

Anyone used both Podofo to parse pdf's. How does this compare to just using Adobe SDK. I will look into this myself though it will take a while to make a comparrison. Was wondering if Pofofo adds any additonal functionality to the Adobe SDK library or should I just incorporate the relevent SDK files in my application and use that? Thought someone out there might have some experience with this. Thanks danny2000

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place (or perhaps the right forum for that matter) but it seemed like the most logical place... I am currently collaborating with several people to produce some graphic animation and movie files with alpha channel transparency for use in another program we are working in. One partner (who is working primarily with Mac software) created a video file of the format .MOV. The problem with this being that the other application this video is being used with is strictly Windows based and therefore does not support this QuickTime file format …

Apple had a great opportunity to build bridges, not only between itself and its customers but also with Adobe, by announcing it had finally done the right thing and included support for Adobe Flash when it announced new iPhone 4.0 OS features this week. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Apple did not grasp that opportunity but instead made it very clear that no such support will be forthcoming. According to Lee Brimelow, whose official title at Adobe is that of 'Platform Evangelist' for Flash amongst other things, the new iPhone 4.0 SDK "appears to make creating applications in any non-Apple-approved languages a violation …

If you are a user of Adobe Flash, be sure to apply the latest security update if you want to avoid becoming part of an in-the-wild attack exploiting a vulnerability which currently seems to be exploiting users of Internet Explorer on the Windows platform only. Adobe has, however, issued an [emergency security patch](https://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb12-09.html) for Android, Linux and Mac users as well as those with Windows which kind of suggests it could be indicative of a wider problem with the software. ![dweb-flash](/attachments/small/0/dweb-flash.jpg "align-right") Adobe is recommending that any users of Flash Player v11.2.202.233 and earlier for Windows, Mac and Linux should …

Recently a friend suggested to me that one can make iPhone GUIs in Adobe Catalyst... I am really skeptical about this, can one really make the user interface of iPhone in Adobe Catalyst or Flash and then import it in the Xcode as a .xib for it to properly work with full integration....? I have searched on the net but there is no definitive answer.... :(

I can't use Adobe Acrobat as MS Word is installed on my other PC. There are a few other issues, that lead me to realise that I should also install Office on my Graphics PC. I am reluctant to do that as I feel it will slow it down. Has anyone any advice as to how I can access the Office applications from my Graphics PC? Or whether I shoud just install …
