explorer.exe restarting, possibly bogus svchost?

This all started happening about yesterday, dunno what was going on,
but explorer.exe keeps restarting itself, my desktop and everythign crashes out and comes back up every few seconds.
I looked in task manager, and i see a svchost using a lot more memory than usual, i'd crash it out, but it'd pop right back up.
I just now registered an account here in hopes of finding some assistance.
Looking through other posts, most people get there's.
i downloaded HJT and got a log... just tell me what to do now ^_^

Look in Event Viewer and see noted errors. This could give information on what is causing these crashes.
Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer. Check Applications and also System logs.

in applications i see repeated Winlogon going on,
saying
"The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted."

Right before the string of winlogon explorer restarts, i see ccsvchst doing some funky stuffs, then a few restarts, then a nice long list of ESENT errors...then EventSystem errors. ccSvcHst stops all the things it started, Automatic LiveUpdate runs a bunch, usnjsvc, then just constant Winlogon restarts, with sprinks of Bonjour Service, LightScribeService, gusvc, auto updates, and ccsvchhst activity.

The esent errors say that they couldn't open a file for readonly, because it was pre-occupied, and the Systemerrors are saying bad return code and null pointers.

ccsvchst started up "CLTNetCnService" and "ccSetMgr" and "LiveUpdate Notice" before all the errors and such, then stopped them, then restarted them, then the long string of Winlogon errors appeard.

my security log is corrupted O_o

In system logs,
yesterday,
PlugPlayManager "The service "SPOOLER" may not have unregistered for device event notifications before it was stopped."

Service Control Manager also "The npkcrypt service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
"
and "Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the AdminWorks Agent X6 service to connect.
"
And today,
for the last 3 hours or so,
Service Control manager constantly keeps doing something every 10 seconds or so... "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service", enters running state with User N\A, twice, then "successfully sent a start control" to SYSTEM once.

Any Ideas, or suggestions? (explorer is still restarting)

as a side note.. i've discovered that i cannot play any sounds.
any .mp3's i try playing come up with errors, and movies are silent.
although it plays the logon sound just fine.

Actually would have preferred to see an actual error report rather than just comments on various errors...anyway
ccsvchst is your Norton Anti-virus
Automatic LiveUpdate...assume this is your Norton program, though it could also be Windows Updates.
The thing is many of these items you mention have to do with various auto updates to some programs, Norton...which SHOULD auto update, Bonjour service which shouldn't be needed, LightScribeService is a labeling service for CD's shouldn't running at all, gusvc is the google updater.
Turn off ALL of those auto udaters with the exception of the Norton program...is it current and up to date by the way or is it due for renewal.

and i think its a bogus scvhost, because in my task manager i see... 6, all around 2k-6k mem usage, then this one is almost 25k mem usage. and i terminate it, just to pop back up.

No it would have helped to have a couple of the errors so we would have maybe an idea.
Do this....
Please Download ATF-Cleaner.exe by Atribune(Windows XP, 2K, 2003 & Vista ONLY)

• You can put ATF-Cleaner on your Desktop for easy access.
RUN ATF-Cleaner.exe.

-- Click on ATF-Cleaner to run it
-- Where it says Select Files To Delete, Check the Select All Option
-- Click Empty Selected > OK

If you use Firefox browser, do this also:

* Click Firefox at the top and choose Select All from the list.
* Click the Empty Selected button.
* NOTE : If you would like to keep your saved passwords, click No at the prompt.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBA-M) to your Desktop.

* DoubleClick mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install MBA-M.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt.

Reboot the computer.

Please Run the ESET Online Scanner and attach the ScanLog with your post for assistance.

* You will need to use Internet Explorer to to complete this scan.
* You will need to temporarily Disable your current Anti-virus program.
* Be sure the option to Remove found threats is checked and the option to Scan unwanted applications is Checked.
* When you have completed that scan, a scanlog ought to have been created and located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt. Please post that log for us as directed below.
After doing the above items then run a new HJT scan and post back with the MBA-M log, the ESET log, and the new HJT log.

And i was looking through that log i did post,
that privacy_danger was some virus i had long ago, kept changing my background and spamming popups.
i thought it was gone lol, guess not..

and i think its a bogus scvhost, because in my task manager i see... 6, all around 2k-6k mem usage, then this one is almost 25k mem usage. and i terminate it, just to pop back up.

Although you have/had nasties on board, having svchost processes behaving in that way is not necessarily indicative of malware.
I have uploaded a screenie of mine to show it can also be normal behaviour.

Your HJT log looks ok, you have a LOT of things running in the back ground and a lot running unnecessarily at start up, this could give you the high usage of svchost processes, as crunchie noted in his attachment. Each one handles multiple processes, and you have a LOT running.
