This will lead to a eventual fix ,I hope ,but you have to work for it!LOL

Please delete your temporary files by deleting all files and folders that are in those folders (do not delete the temp folder itself) like for example
C:\WINDOWS\Temp\
C:\Temp\
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\
Also delete your Temporary Internet Files, be sure to also select delete all offline content.

Do a virus scan here.
If you get report of files that can’t be cleaned / deleted please write down the filenames and locations and post that in your reply.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Download then unzip and run CWShredder to clean up clicking "FIX" to have it remove all it finds.

CWShredder available from these places :-

http://www.aluriasoftware.com/tools/cwshredder.zip
Or this as a full download without any unzipping required
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/CWShredder.exe
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/CWShredder.exe

We have found that some of the CWS infections can be removed better from safe mode, rather than normal mode.
To get to safe mode use the F8 key while booting the machine. Detailed instructions from here :-
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...001052409420406
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Then please do this since it’s better to use automated tools to get rid of the bad stuff use these 2 programs first before doing the final cleaning with HJT

First use Spybot S&D. (Version 1.3)
Spybot
Unzip, and update. Install the updates and run. Delete all that it marks in red.
Reboot

Then it’s time for Ad-Aware
Ad-Aware
Install and update by using the globe icon. Restart your computer and run Ad-Aware.
Press scan now and select drives and/or partitions to be scanned. When done select all and click next. Remove all checked items and then reboot your computer.

Please go to this page and read the instructions for how to configure Spybot S&D & Ad-Aware
How To Setup Spybot SD and Ad-Aware

Then post a new HJT log as a reply to this topic.
Thank you

Thanks, I'll get to work! I'll post the HJT log asap

Right then, here goes.

I've done everything suggested and in order. There were a few files that i could not delete from my docs and settings temp file because they were in use??? They were all called something along the lines of - DPC6.dll

The things that could not be cleaned by the homecall virus scanner, with their locations are as follws:

BKDR COLDFUSION.A - in Documents and settings

TROJ ADWARE.LOP
TROJ MANIFEST.A - both in c:/program files

TROJ AGENT.FL
BKDR COLDFUSION.A - both in C:Recycles

TROJ SMALL.XO - C:Windows/Downloaded programs

TROJ STARTPAG.NK
TROJ SMALL.FY
BKDR RULEDOR.C
ADW RULEDOR.C
TROJ ISTBAR.BU
TROJ SMALL.ZK
TROJ HOLICA.C
TROJ STARTPAG.NK
WORM APSIV.A - all the above in C/Windows/Sys32

TROJ STARTPAG.NK - C:/prot.exe

And here is my new log:

Ok Caperjack, I did the delete trojan program and it seemed to delete all of the stuff that couldn't be deleted by housecall!

Here is my new HJT log which doesn't seem to be too different to me?

Ok, sorry mate, been away for a day. I did what you have said to the letter and ill copy my log below. Thanks again for your help!

I still get the winsock error when i start up but not the dxsetu one. I did take the liberty of deleting the winsock.exe files from C:windows i thought that may help??? But not really I guess as its still there lol.

Also, the THGuard program which I downloaded pops up every time I start up telling me its killed coldfusion.110 and coldfusion.112 like everytime i start up.

Thanks again for your help:

Hi mate, I've done it again in safe mode. Fixed checked the ones stated, then deleted the relevant .exe files. Reboot and bobs your mothers brother they're back again in exactly the same place from where i deleted them.

What the hell is going on, how come i cant delete the little bastards.

Still getting the error messages and still getting the coldfusion trojans everyttime i reboot arrrrggg!!!

If it helps, i did download the FM2005 no cd crack which i understand was a bad thing to do and this seems to happened ever since then so i guess it is my own fault.

Im Stumped !!
And Crack Sites Are Bad !!

Most likely the crack installs the malware whenever you run the game (I guess that's what you cracked, you pirate).
Your own fault, let it be a lesson.

Download the Pocket KillBox
Unzip the file to your desktop.
Run Pocket Killbox and paste the full file path of each of the below files in the box and click on Standard File Kill and End Explorer Shell While Killing File. Click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle after you enter each file (see the files below).

C:\WINDOWS\dxsetu.exe
c:\windows\winsock.scr
c:\windows\dxsetu.exe
c:\windows\system32\winlog.com
c:\windows\system32\dxwinex.exe

Reboot afterwards if the files are successfully deleted.

If all files are not deleted, do not reboot yet. Run Pocket Killbox again and paste the full file path in the box and click on Delete on Reboot. Next click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle. You will get a message saying "File with be deleted on next reboot, Process and Reboot now?" Click "Yes" to reboot only after the last file you enter.

commented: Anyone can be a victim of spyware. Thanks for being there to help. +3

Right, nice one, dont get the errors anymore :cheesy: and all appears well after a few reboots.

I do get an error message each time saying that windows can't find winsock.scr(which i guess is a good thing) but why is it looking for it?

Also my start up time has increased i think because of this? Any ideas but if not thanks for your time and effort, much appreciated!

Try this:

Reboot into Safe Mode

Open Windows Explorer, click on Tools, Folder Options, View; select "Show hidden files and folders," and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".

For every user account listed under C:\Documents and Settings, delete the entire contents of these folders:
Cookies
History
Local Settings\Temp
Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Delete the entire content of
C:\Windows\Temp folder
C:\Temp folder

Do a search for *.tmp and delete everything found

Empty your Recycle Bin

Scan with HJT, and have it fix the F2 entry with winsock (yes, again)

While still in Safe Mode, go to Start, Run, and type in regedit; click OK and the registry editor will open.

Before you edit the registry, you should make a backup. At the top of the Registry window, click on the Registry menu, click Export Registry File. In the Export range panel, click All, then save your registry as Backup

Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, Microsoft, Windows NT (not Windows), CurrentVersion, IniFileMapping, system.ini

Highlight system.ini and look in the right-hand pane for winsock; if found, right-click on it and delete it.

Exit the Registry Editor

Reboot normally, close all browser windows, scan with HJT, and post a new log please. Also tell us if you still get the winsock error message.
