Hi,
A few days ago these icons appeared on my desktop. I had not added any new software that I could think of. You can not right click on them or move them. They open up in IE (not my default browser) and go to 'srch.lop.com'. IE also has a lop.com tool bar.

I have used 'Ad-aware' and 'Spybot - Search & Destroy' which did not remove it.

I am using XP Pro with SP2.

If any one knows how to remove them, Help would be great.

Cheers, Todd

First of all could you click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall 'Window Search', 'Window Searching', 'Lop.com', 'LOP SEARCH', 'Browser Enhancer', or 'Ultimate Browser Enhancer' if listed. You may be given a code to insert, do so and reboot when done. If not listed there, run this uninstaller:

LOP toolbar uninstaller http://members.rogers.com/rjmac/toolbar_uninstall.exe

Uninstall Messenger Plus if you have it, as it comes bundled with LOP, the infection you currently enjoy :). You can reinstall Messenger Plus without the sponsor.
