Hi everyone. First i'd like to thank jholland 1964 for the assistance in tryin to resolve my problems with the desktop.ini virus.
As was suggested I downloaded the newer version of HijackThis, ran it and the hjt log appears below. I have not done anything to try and fix this problem other than run a full virus scan whose results show no problems. But the desktop.ini just seems to be showin up everywhere on my folders subs etc. I dont know which ones to delete and what not to so HELP!
Thanks.
Jack

Desktop.ini files appear in many folders and hold the view settings for that folder. There is nothing wrong with them. They are not indication of a virus.
If you would feel more comfortable you can do the following:
download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBA-M) to your Desktop.

* DoubleClick mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install MBA-M.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt.
You can post back here with that log if something is found. MBA-M is an excellent program, top of the line really. Keep it updated and run a weekly Quick Scan with it, removing everything found. If something is found then immediately run a Full Scan so that all files on the computer are scanned and cleaned.
