In IE some links work, others don't. Don't seem to be able to control pop-ups. Lots of other things not working.

Done various scans and clean ups but still having problems.

Thanks for the reply. It's good to know someone out there is on your side. I will try as you recommended.

I think the problems may have started after an automatic IE upgrade. I can't even find out which version it is now, as nothing happens when I click on: Help/About Internet Explorer.

Time to dump IE and go for FireFox I think - a few friends have been telling me to do this for some time.

Will post back and let you know how I get on.

Have downloaded both FireFox and Opera.

FireFox - liked the fact that it imported all my bookmarks, so was ready to go from first use.

Opera - really like the "speed dial" feature.

Will use them both for a while and see which one sticks.
