Help Me! Red Circle with White X in System Tray

I have a white x in a red circle in my system tray. I now have no control over my volume nor can I change the brightness of my screen. Also macafree is giving me these popups of blocked trojens all the time. Please Help Me!

You need to get rid of the BRAVIAX.EXE trojan. You can google it to find out what it does.

In Windows\system32, look for that file and note its date, time and size. Look for similar files with a different name that may have been created at the same time, or of similar/same size created since. I'm not the expert on BraviaX but if it has reproduced itself, this is one way of detecting that. You should also look in Progam Files for any directories created at the same time. If you don't know the software, delete it - it'll prolly be rogue Anti-Virus software.

It may then be as simple as using Anti-Malwarebytes software to scan your system and remove the trojan. You would look in the log for at least all the suspects you found in your visual inspection.

If stuff still doesn't work perfectly, you'll need to run MBAM.EXE again and then reboot to the Windows Repair Screen and fo a System Restore froma restore point that precedes the start of your problem (hopefully preceding the date & time recorded for BRAVIAX.EXE).
There are aother cures which take longer and are more or less guaranteed to deliver. You can look these up in this forum and do it yourself if my quick method fails. It's always worked for me, though.
