Recently, Harvard grad computer genius Benjamin Edelman performed a test where he surfed online without any Window Updates. (good idea) The video on his website shows you how ads are installed automatically without notifications to the user. It's a perfect example how uneducated users get spyware without even knowing it.
All the spyware installed takes advantage of the secruity holes in Internet Explorer. Hopefully after watching this video you'll be a little less suspicous when grandma calls and whines about all her porn popups
