Hi, I see that you've helped others out on your website with the virus Trojan.Cachecachekit and I was hoping you could help me out too. From reading other threads you've asked users to post a HijackThis logfile. I've posted mine, let me know if you can help and if you need anything else. Thanks.

Here is some more information on what has been happening and what I've tried to do to fix it. I use Microsoft XP Home and I received the virus by clicking on a link from an AIM from a friend. I opened the file rather than saving and hit run. I canceled everything after that but it was too late. I have Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition which recognizes the virus and quarantines it. However, it does this repeatedly every 5 seconds as if the virus keeps reappearing. The problems I've had with the virus are mass IMs spreading the virus, Internet settings being changed, Registry values created and changed, slightly slower performance, and the annoyance of regular Symantec Notifications of quarantining the virus. I've stopped most of the problems through running the Symantec virus scan, Ad-aware scan, Spybot scan, Microsoft Antivirus scan, AIM fix, and trendmicro.com website scan. I also went to the Symantec website and followed the instructions for deleting the Trojan.Cachecachekit virus as well as the W32.Spybot.NLX virus. I changed the registry values specified in the instructions as well as deleted the registry values it said the W32.Spybot.NLX virus creates but did not tell me to delete. The only problem I still have is the constant notifications from my Symantec AntiVirus software of it repeatedly quarantining Trojan.Cachecachekit in File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\rdriv.sys. Sometimes it will stop for a couple of hours but will eventually start again to the point that I have received notifications and quarantined the virus over 8000 times. I clear these items from the quarantine every 1000 or so to keep it from building up to much. After talking with a friend studying IT stuff he recommended I do a Google search for info and I came upon this site. I hope this information is a little more informative and helpful.

P.S. - I've also done all of these scans (aside from the trendmicro.com website scan) in both Safe Mode and Normal Mode with System Recovery turned off as the Symantec website instructed me to.

Update: After using CleanUp and CWShredder, I downloaded Ewido Security Suite and that seems to have fixed the problem. After updating and running the scan, Ewido detected 3 problems which I cleaned. Though none were the exact name of Trojan.Cachecachekit the notifications from Symantec have stopped and I have been on AIM throughout the day without sending mass IMs.
