Hi,

I am trying to fix my mums laptop, she clicked on a dodgy email and IE has been hijacked and popups keep appearing trying to sell anti spyware, adult sites etc.

I have run AVG, Ewido, Spybot, Adaware, emptied temp, prefetch etc but IE is still Hijacked.

What do I do?

Download hijackThis. Extract it to its own folder. Then run it and select. Do system scan and save log. Post the contents of the log that pops up.

We will work form there.

Hi,

I think Ive fixed it.

I ran ewido online and Panda Platinum and seemed to clear the nasties.

The only prob I have now is that her adsl modem wont connect, it says that the password is incorrect.

Could this be related to the other problems?

You could still have somthing blocking your connection. You should post the log...
